Sted Wallen has worked predominantly in the public sector, in economic development and racial equality. He is a former Principle Race Equality Officer for Birmingham City Council. In the 1990s he was Director of the Aston Commission, winning City Challenge status and raising millions of pounds for regeneration.
He also has extensive media experience. He is a former Sports and Cultural Development Officer for Channel 4 and was responsible for the hugely successful Caribbean Summer Programme in 2000. He currently performs this role on a consultancy basis. He is also the Project Director for Birmingham Sports and Cultural Day, Presenter of Channel 4 grass roots road show “Talking Cricket With Legends”, Chair of the Handsworth Cavaliers Cricket Club and sits on a number of local, national and international committees.
